The M365 Email Activity Report is a PowerShell script that retrieves email send and receive activity across 7, 30, 90 and 180-day periods for every licensed user in your Microsoft 365 tenant, and delivers the results in a formatted Excel workbook — with per-user and per-domain breakdowns in separate worksheets.

WHO IT'S FOR

This script is built for IT administrators working on Microsoft 365 migrations, licence right-sizing, email infrastructure reviews or user adoption assessments. The combination of per-user granularity and per-domain aggregation makes it equally useful for a detailed account-level audit and a high-level view of mail flow across the organisation.

ZERO MANUAL SETUP

On first run, the script automatically creates its own Entra ID app registration, assigns the required Microsoft Graph API permissions, grants tenant-wide admin consent and generates a client secret. Credentials are saved locally and reused on every subsequent run. There is nothing to configure in the Azure portal.

OUTPUT

• Formatted Excel workbook with two worksheets: User Activity and Domain Activity
• CSV exports for both datasets
• Full timestamped log file for every run
