The M365 Workload Usage Report is a PowerShell script that collects activity data across all five M365 workloads — Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business and Yammer — for every licensed user in your tenant, and delivers the results in a single formatted Excel workbook. One script. One run. Everything you need.

WHAT IT REPORTS

• Last activity dates and days-since-active across all five workloads
• Teams channel chats, private chats, meetings and calls
• Exchange mailbox send/receive counts and storage usage
• SharePoint and OneDrive file interaction and sync statistics
• Yammer post, read and like counts
• Entra ID last sign-in date per user
• Configurable reporting period: 7, 30, 90 or 180 days

ACCOUNT STATUS SCORING

Every user is automatically assigned an account status — Heavy Usage, Moderate Usage, Poor Usage, Review Account or Account Unused — based on their average activity across all five workloads. Identify licence reclamation candidates, flag inactive accounts and support adoption reviews without manually interpreting a single date.

ZERO MANUAL SETUP

On first run, the script automatically creates its own Entra ID app registration, assigns the required Microsoft Graph API permissions, grants tenant-wide admin consent and generates a client secret. Credentials are saved locally and reused on every subsequent run. There is nothing to configure in the Azure portal.

OUTPUT

• Formatted Excel workbook with frozen headers and auto-fitted columns
• CSV export for further analysis or import into other tools
• Full timestamped log file for every run
